One of the most popular sessions in my boudoir studio is a bridal boudoir shoot. For many brides-to-be, this is the perfect excuse to try out boudoir and give their partner a wedding day gift they will never forget!
I love shooting bridal boudoir sessions and celebrating a special moment in my clients’ lives. Read on to learn everything you need to know about bridal boudoir – what it is, why clients love them, what to wear and how to book your own bridal photography session!
Bridal boudoir is a type of boudoir session that celebrates a bride-to-be! Like a regular boudoir session, you’ll be pampered with hair and makeup services before our empowering 1.5 hour photography shoot. Many brides like to bring wedding accessories, like their veil, to the session.
During your same-day image reveal, we’ll look through all of the stunning photos of you and put together your album. Most clients will then gift this album to their partner on the morning of their wedding!
Many people who are curious about boudoir are finally encouraged to take the plunge when they book a bridal boudoir session. They know that their boudoir photos will make an incredible wedding day gift for their spouse-to-be. After all, who wouldn’t want to receive beautiful intimate photos of the person they love the most?
But bridal boudoir is about so much more than just your partner. Yes, these photos make a great personal gift, but they’re also a gift for yourself. You deserve to feel beautiful, to invest in yourself and to celebrate this milestone in your life!
Even if you didn’t have a partner to make an album for, I believe this boudoir experience is worth it just for you. The body confidence and self-love you will leave my studio with will last long beyond your wedding day.
So think of bridal boudoir as a win-win: Your partner gets a special gift while you get to do something incredible for yourself!
By far, the most popular item to bring to a bridal boudoir session is your wedding veil. We can have a lot of fun draping your veil and playing with it in your photos. I can also shoot through your veil for that artsy vibe.
Some brides-to-be will bring along other wedding day accessories, like their wedding shoes or any jewelry they plan to wear. Your wedding garter could be a sexy option! I also love to photograph your engagement ring in some of my detail shots.
If you’re wearing white on your wedding day, you can pay homage to that in your boudoir session with lots of white outfits. Maybe it’s a white silk robe, lacy white panties or a white lingerie bodysuit.
Not into white? That works too! You can wear whatever colour you want or give a nod to a wedding colour from your culture. For example red is popular in many Asian weddings.
A great way to personalize your wedding boudoir shoot is by borrowing something from your partner’s closet – bonus points if they don’t notice it’s missing and are extra surprised when they flip through your album!
If your partner wears men’s clothing, a men’s white dress shirt is a really great option. So is a baggy band tee! Or opt for something personal to them, like their favourite sweater.
Just because you’re booking a bridal boudoir session doesn’t mean every outfit you wear needs to scream, “I’m a bride!” You can absolutely wear non-white or non-bridal outfits throughout your session.
Whether you’re in a black leather jacket, fishnets stocking, a hot pink bodysuit or some cozy knee high socks, your session can still be all about celebrating you and this next chapter in your life.
And trust me, your fiance(e) is going to be thrilled with your album no matter what you do (or don’t!) wear!

Most people love to turn their bridal session into a photo album to give to their partner as a wedding gift. I love this idea because I truly can’t imagine a more personal gift than intimate photos of your soon-to-be spouse!
During your image reveal, we’ll work together to create your album. After all, you know your partner best! You should be involved in choosing the photos and overall feel of the album you’re going to gift. You’ll also be able to choose from different colour and fabric options for the cover.
In addition to albums, I also offer prints and digital options. I even have a polaroid bonus add-on! This can be a fun extra to surprise your fiance(e) with and tease your full album to come!
If your wedding date is set and you want to give your partner – and yourself – the best wedding present ever, let’s book you in for a bridal boudoir session!
