Welcome to my vintage-inspired, moody and bright boudoir studio in beautiful Vancouver, Canada! After years of shooting in a blank white space, I was thrilled to finally transform my studio in 2024.
Now the space offers a little bit of everything: a convenient central Vancouver location, beautiful and contrasted settings to create a variety of images, and the comfortable and welcoming environment that has always been my priority.
I can’t wait to welcome you into my studio – a creative sanctuary for everyone who walks through the doors – and create your incredible boudoir images together!
I like to say that a session at my boudoir studio is like a full day of self-love. This isn’t a quick 30 minute shoot! This is a full day experience.
We start with hair and makeup. You’ll get glam and we’ll have a chance to chat and get to know each other better.
From there, it’s time for the fun part: your boudoir shoot! We’ll experiment with poses, lighting and props throughout my studio, laughing and enjoying ourselves the whole time.
After the shoot, you’ll take a quick break while I get your photos ready for the image reveal. Back in my studio, we’ll go over all of your stunning images and build your digital and print products together.
The entire experience lasts about 5-6 hours. I like to encourage my clients to not book anything super stressful or that they have to rush to before or after their session. Instead, take a full day to really indulge in this experience and enjoy yourself. You deserve it!
While my studio isn’t large, I’ve learned you don’t need much space as long as you know how to use it. Many of my clients are shocked that my studio is less than 500 square feet considering the variety of images I produce.
There are two sides to my studio – a bright Old Hollywood vibe and a dark and moody vibe. Both spaces use vintage elements, play with light and contrast, and allow us to create a diversity of looks together.
Starting with the bright side of the studio, you’ll find soft romantic lighting and cream coloured textured walls that I actually hand painted myself. A huge window lets in lots of natural light while candles and lamps add some more ambient lighting.
One of my favourite set pieces is the Hollywood vintage vanity. I love to pose my clients leaning onto the vanity, especially if they’re wearing something long and drapey. We can also take some artistic shots in the vanity mirror.
Next to the vanity is wall space that works perfectly for those powerful standing shots. I’m able to shoot through the vanity and plants to create extra depth.
Last but not least is the bed covered in white satin sheets with a velvet headboard. With the multiple textures and light pouring in from the nearby window, the bed set creates the ultimate romantic atmosphere.
A huge variety of poses work here – whether you’re lying or kneeling on the bed, leaning into it or standing next to it. And for an extra dose of intimacy, we can arrange your lingerie or sheets to drape off you.
Over to the dark side of my boudoir studio! Here you’ll find black walls, black curtains and lots of gold, vintage elements for that pop of contrast. Two of my favourite pieces are the huge gold mirror and the crystal chandelier, both adding a little luxury to your background.
Another favourite – and a piece my clients absolutely love – is the deep green velvet chair. Similar to a French-style settee, this is a chair I’ve had for over a decade (it used to live in my apartment before I had my studio). Almost everyone wants to use the chair during their shoot and, honestly, who could blame them?
There’s definitely a different vibe to this part of the studio. We can work with shadows and create very cool imagery as the light hits in different ways. It offers the perfect contrast to the more bright and airy side. I find images from both sides work well together in albums and other printed products.
In addition to the dark and bright sides of my boudoir studio, I also have a number of furniture pieces, props and backdrops that you can make use of during your session.
To capture different levels and poses, I have two stools that I love to use: a short white stool that fits under the vanity and a taller leather stool that works best on the dark side. I also have a vintage style green velvet chair and a beautiful tan leather couch we can use to create your images.
Most first-time boudoir clients come to their session feeling nervous. But they get comfortable pretty quickly, with many clients telling me the space feels so cozy and inviting.
As my clients get their hair and makeup done, I find it’s a great time for us to chat and for clients to tell me their story. Everyone comes to boudoir for different reasons and my goal is to be there for you throughout this experience.
During the shoot, my clients always tell me how comfortable I make them feel. This is my number one priority as a boudoir photographer. I always ask for consent before moving a client’s hair or adjusting their outfit, and always ensure my clients can take breaks when needed.
As we go through the image reveal, I have sample albums and products on hand so my clients can get a real feel for what their own products will look like. While most photographers will usually design an album on their own, I really want my clients to have a say in their products. Together, we will build the best boudoir album for you to commemorate this experience.
Everyone leaves my studio telling me how much fun they had. A lot of clients assume a boudoir session is going to be hard and are pleasantly surprised by how easy and joyful the day was. They tell me that my studio and the entire boudoir experience felt comfortable, welcoming and warm, which is always the goal!
My boudoir studio is located in the Chinatown area of downtown Vancouver. It’s in a very central location and easily accessible by car, public transit or on foot.
Before your session, I’ll send you an email with all the details you need to get to the studio, including parking (there’s a parkade across the street) and transit directions.
My studio is wheelchair-accessible and mobility-friendly. This is something I was specifically looking for in a studio space. There is elevator access to the second floor and my doors are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
I am also very proud to offer a safe, welcoming and judgement-free space for all peoples, including LGTBQ+, SW, disabled people, etc.
